SOLD This painting was inspired by an old door seen down east. I think it must've been a 'sticky' door, and every time someone tried to open it, they gave it a kick with their foot. Badly battered at the bottom corner, the original wood was broken away and the insulation was showing. I immediately envisioned a landscape, took some pictures, and eventually painted it as I saw it in my mind's eye. Inspiration can come from almost anywhere and anything.
