This painting is based on tiles I saw in Ecuador. Many walkways in older sections of town were squares and rectangles of marbled stone. I was mesmerized by their beauty. The painting is created using a thick layer of gels with crack lines drawn into it. When the gel was dry, I applied dark acrylic paint, removed it, and followed with layers of transparent acrylics. I finished it with pearlescent acrylics and mica flakes.
