Portfolio of Works
Charcoals
The paintings in this collection are started as loose charcoals which look quite messy. From the chaos, I develop trees, a landscape, old buildings, or flowers. Most are impressionistic but some are non-objective abstracts. All are unique.
Acrylics
Landscapes, seascapes, trees and flowers. This is my beginning, where I first started my foray into an artist's world. My skill and style have changed considerably since then, and although I continue to paint landscapes, my paintings are looser, with less detail and definition now. I'm enjoying the entire experience and all the little challenges I encounter along the way that add to my 'art education'.
Abstract
I used to look at abstracts and submissively think "Hmmph! I could do that.". Well, I quickly learned that a good abstract isn't all that easy. They require concentration and work, and the ability to let go and yet retain control, and to know when enough is enough. Creating a good, interesting abstract is the hardest thing I've ever done. They are a challenge mentally, and I never know if I'm going to have a success or not. In the end, it is exactly that challenge... the success or failure... that intrigues me. I hope you will enjoy what's in this album, and thanks for looking.
