Welcome to
Carolyn Huff-Winters Fine Art
I'm a Canadian artist. A few years ago, a friend talked me into taking a short, six-week art class with her in a private home. I can't say I learned very much in the class, but I got the 'bug', and as they say, 'the rest is history'.
I use acrylics, powdered charcoal and mixed media to create realistic, impressionistic or abstract works of art. Lately, my focus has been using powdered charcoal finished with acrylic paint. I like the textures created when water and charcoal meet, and the visual effects with the added acrylic color. My charcoals are works of the heart, requiring many hours from start to finish.
In the past ten years, I have spent over 900 hours furthering my art education through college courses, workshops and private lessons. Although I have a small studio space in my home, I rent a larger space just minutes away, and I can be found in my studio five, six, and sometimes seven days a week. I love being there, painting, listening to music or art podcasts. It's my happy place.
Thank you for viewing my work. I hope you enjoy it, and I look forward to any comments you may have.
